- 18 – As part of The Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting of Shareholders, Bob Iger unveiled creative details about Treasure Cove, the first-ever Pirates-themed land which includes a new attraction called Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle of the Sunken Treasure, designed for Shanghai Disneyland.[1][2][3]

- 23 – Disney announced that Pirates of the Caribbean 5 had been slated for a release on July 7, 2017.[4][5]

- 28/29 – It was reported that pre-production for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 started and that filming was expected to commence in February 2015.[6]

- 2 – Disney and Ian Walker officially confirmed that Pirates 5 filming would take place exclusively in Australia. Village Roadshow Studios and Port Douglas were confirmed as filming locations.[7]
- 24 – It was announced that The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow would close.[8]
