The Anabelle was a British merchant schooner that operated in the Caribbean during the Age of Piracy. In the 1720s, the ship was docked at Port Royal in Jamaica on the night that the Black Pearl sailed into the harbor and laid siege to the town.
Behind the scenes[]
The Anabelle appeared in the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. While it was unclear in the final cut of the film, the ship's name is visible in the "Diary of a Pirate" featurette on the film's DVD release.[1]
"Annabelle" is the name of one of the bateaux in the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, which each had a women's name of French or Spanish origin or the name of a famous pirate.[2][3][4]
