Blackbeard's Daughter is a musical theme composed by Hans Zimmer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. It appeared as a track on the film's complete soundtrack.

Track Description

The exploration, British and Barbossa's themes as heard in "Blackbeard's Daughter".

The track begins with the Spanish guitar figure later heard in "Ole", and moves into the new "exploration theme" doubled with the adapted British theme. Barbossa's adapted theme is then heard, against more interpolations of the British theme. This is followed by the first trhee notes of the new theme from "On Stranger Tides". This figure overlays another repeat of the British and Barbossa's theme, before ending with the exploration theme entwined with the On Stranger Tides theme.

The track plays during the exchange between Joshamee Gibbs and Hector Barbossa in the execution courtyard of the Tower of London, where Gibbs joins Barbossa's British crew.

Trivia

  • This track is also known as "Gibbs Burns Map" from the alternative track listing.
  • This itrack feaures the first appearance of the minor "exploration theme". It can be heard again at the end of "Palm Tree Escape" (although what could be perceived as a variation on it is heard underneath the main theme at the end of "On Stranger Tides").
  • Despite the name, it is played at a point in On Stranger Tides where it is not revealed that Blackbeard has a daughter.
