Canton was the capital and most populous city of the Guangdong province in Southern China.

At some point around fourth meeting of the Brethren Court and the ending battle of the Brethren's war against Lord Cutler Beckett and the East India Trading Company, Mistress Ching, the Pirate Lord of the Pacific Ocean, was one of the few pirate captains to retire proper and set herself up in Canton as a wealthy lady.
