- "But, Captain, the Cutlass drives pirates away."
"Raise the sails and fire when in range." - ―A sailor and James Norrington
The Cutlass was the pirate ship of Captain Left-Foot Louis in the Caribbean. He used it during his search for the scabbard of the Sword of Cortés.
History[]
The Cutlass flew a black Jolly Roger with a scarlet-colored skull and crossbones. It docked at Isla Fortuna during Louis' search for the parchment needed to summon the spirit of Hernán Cortés, and was spotted by the crew of the Barnacle. Following Louis' disappearance, Cortés used the power of his Sword to vanish the Cutlass from its port at Puerto San Judas. Its whereabouts remained unknown for years.
Sometime prior to Jack Sparrow's arrival, the Cutlass appeared at Port Royal. James Norrington attempted to capture the captain of the ship, but was outsmarted.
