Not much is known about this man's early life. At some unspecified point of his life, this man became an officer of the East India Trading Company. He either accompanied the Company to Port Royal or was stationed there before their arrival.
Around 1729, the EITC Officer and two fellow Royal Marines entered Lord Cutler Beckett's office at Port Royal with William Turner in chains and informed the Lord of his presence. Beckett ordered the guard to remove the chains, and the guard obeyed after nodding in response.
Later, the officer accompanied Beckett's aide, Ian Mercer, and a garrison of Company Marines to the docks at Port Royal, where Captain Hawkins was secretly transporting Governor Weatherby Swann and his daughter, Elizabeth, out of the town. After Mercer murdered Hawkins, the guard and his men stopped the Governor from escaping Mercer, but discovered that Elizabeth was gone. His further fate is unknown.
