The Escape from Saint Martin was an attempt of Henry Turner and Jack Sparrow's former crew to save Carina Smyth and Jack Sparrow from the British authorities on the island of Saint Martin.
Prelude
Jack Sparrow and Carina Smyth were both sentenced to death, as they were believed to be a pirate and a witch, respectively. As Sparrow was dragged to his death, he met one of his relatives. After a brief conversation, in which his uncle told him to ask for the executioner Victor because he had the softest hands, Sparrow was dragged out to his death machine. Lieutenant John Scarfield and his crew had front row seats along with Mayor Dix and his wife as Jack was taken to the gallows in a carriage. When a Royal marine inquired how he wanted to die, Jack inadvertently ended up accidentally asking for a Guillotine.
Because he was sentenced to be decapitated, Jack was carried atop the gallows, while Carina was prepared to be hung. After a long argument between Smith and Sparrow over who was to die first, it was decided that they would both die at the same time. Henry Turner arrived and fought several guards, but was soon captured. Scarfield ordered his men to prepare another noose, Turner revealed that he was simply a diversion; as the executioner prepared to pull the lever to execute Sparrow, the crew of the Dying Gull revealed themselves, firing a cannon that inflicted heavy damage upon the gallows, which sent the executioner flying and caused the guillotine to begin to spin around with Sparrow still in it.
Battle
As Pike, Bollard and Marty dispensed with the guards surrounding the gallows, Scrum ran up to rescue Carina Smyth. When he attempted to kick the executioner, he was blown backwards due to the man's immense strength. However, Carina was able to send him tumbling off of the gallows with a single swift kick. Scrum was then confronted by a guard, who attempted to hang Carina, but was soon knocked down by Scrum. However, as he bowed to Carina, he accidentally pulled the lever. Luckily, Henry was able to catch Carina.
The guillotine continued to spin around until Jack came flying off, and was rescued by Gibbs. As Scarfield was about to kill Henry and Carina, Jack and his crew arrived and knocked him over the head with a piece of wood. The result of the battle was that both Turner and Smith were taken prisoner aboard the Dying Gull.
