Ferret
left
Ferrets were small weak light sloops with hulls of light brown and sails of the common red and white. These ships did not carry much cargo and held items that did not carry much value. Ships such as these were employed by the British Royal Navy to hunt down pirates.
While these ships were a threat to some, the Ferrets were usually used for ferrying or "ferreting" messages between members of the Navy.
