Isla Muelle was a large island that held a port-colony owned by Spanish. It was located in the South Archipelago in the Caribbean sea. The city on the island was enormous, even larger than Redmond itself. Though it was the only Spanish colony located in the archipelago, it served as a stop for the yearly Spanish Treasure Fleet which usually resulted in economic boom for the town.

History[]

"The history of our island? Well, it was established not too long ago, but since the island turned out to be very rich and fertile, it grew pretty quickly. Now it's the one of the finest colonies in our archipelago."
―Isla Muelle citizen[src]

Isla Muelle was one of the newer colonies in the archipelago during the 1630s. However, it was also by far the largest. Padre Domingues, the town's parish priest, was once abducted by a cult of animists and Padre Robano took temporary charge of the church. Captain Nathaniel Hawk took down the cult in their lair in the neighbouring island after defeating their frigate Mefisto. Padre Domingues was rescued, and was re-instated in his church.

The town plaza

The colony was the largest in the archipelago, divided into five sections. Ahead of the port lay a trading area where merchants sold their goods to inhabitants and sailors. The town's store, tavern, and shipyard were located here. This was flanked by two hamlets containing multiple private houses. In the center of the town was the central square, which contained a church - the largest in the archipelago - and the governor's residence. A regal statue of a conquistador stood in between the two buildings.

The assassin Mateus Santos hid in one of the houses in the town, beside the shipyard.

The animists' lair

Another shore, more inconspicuous, was located in Isla Muelle. This shore contained a cave which was used by animists as their headquarters during the infamous Douwesen kidnapping crisis. Nathaniel Hawk and Jaoquin de Masse battled and defeated them here.

Behind the scenes[]

  • The governor's residence consists of a central building flanked by two wings. The left wing contains a door that leads to an empty study which contains a double barrel pistol in one of the drawers.
  • In the town hall, you will meet a man named Joaquin Da Saldanha who offers you a quest to rescue his son. However, your reputation must at least be Bloke or he won't give you the quest.
  • The animists' shore can only be accessed after the player kills the Mystery Man character during the "Strange things going on in the archipelago" side quest.
