Skirmish off of Palm Tree Grove was a minor battle during the Quest for the Fountain of Youth in 1750. Before the battle, Jack Sparrow temporarily allied himself with members of the British Royal Navy, led by his former enemy, Hector Barbossa. Their mutual goal was the theft of the Chalices of Cartagena, the mystical artifacts which the infamous pirate Blackbeard required to prolong his life in the Profane Ritual at the Fountain of Youth. Barbossa and Jack were successful in stealing the Chalices but their escape was foiled by the Spanish. Jack, however, managed to free himself and created a distraction long enough for Groves to free Barbossa. Sparrow, in the meantime, found his own way to the Chalices and retrieved them, before meeting up with the rest of Barbossa's crew. The British escaped with the Chalices without casualties.
