The jaguar is a New World big cat. It lives as far north as Mexico and as far south as South America.
The treasure of Stone-Eyed Sam included several jaguar statues cast in solid, precious metals.[1] Later, in the volcano on Isla Esquelética, Jack Sparrow and Fitzwilliam P. Dalton III encountered a jaguar, which they were able to escape from using the Timekeeper.[2]

Jaguars first appears in Pirates of the Caribbean: Jack Sparrow book series by Rob Kidd. They first appear as statues in The Coming Storm,[1] and later appear in the flesh in The Timekeeper.[2]
