Jay Wolpert was an American screenwriter and television producer. He wrote the original screen story of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with Stuart Beattie, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. Wolpert would also be attributed, along with Beattie, Elliott and Rossio, for the "Based on characters created by" credit in various Pirates of the Caribbean media. The credit would be used in Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales, the latter film being written by Jeff Nathanson.
