- "Nobody loves me, and I'm going to be killed by pirates, and I never even got to see Paris, and I don't want to die wearing this horrible color—"
- ―Marcella
Paris was the capital and a populous city of France.
History[]
When the British merchant ship the Lindesfarne was captured by the crew of the Le Requin, one of the captives, the young East India Trading Company operative Cutler Beckett, unwisely insulted the pirate leader, Captain Christophe-Julien de Rapièr, by telling him that his fancy clothes were outdated in both London and Paris.[1] Approximately ten years later, Captain Jack Sparrow attended a dinner with the nobility of the mythical island of Kerma. When the scribe Psamtick, through the interpreter Chamba, asked Jack if they had large cities where he came from, the captain wondered what Psamtick would think of London, or Paris, or Singapore.[2] Governor Weatherby Swann's frilled cravat came from Paris.[3]
