Pirates of the Caribbean: Islands of Fortune was developed by Hotgen, Ltd., and released by JAKKS Pacific, Inc. It was released on December 31, 2007.
Summary[]
The game includes fifteen islands, each with three different mini-games. The player gets to control a cannon, search for treasure, and engage in sword fights. Beating one of these mini-games awards you gold. If you complete all three mini-games on the island, you conquer it. When you're not on an island, you can sail freely and sink enemy ships to earn even more gold.
Treasure Hunt[]
In this mini-game, the player controls Jack Sparrow and plunders enemy territories. He must dodge various traps, such as:
- Swarms of bees
- Rotating razors
- Giant boulders
- Arrow shooters
The objective is to reach the treasure chest. Once Jack reaches it, he does a silly dance and the mini-game concludes.
Controls:
A button - Single dash
B button - Double dash
Joystick - Change direction/walk
Sword Fight[]
Jack Sparrow meets a foe, and must defeat him. On some islands, you may encounter multiple enemies.
Controls:
Pressing the A button performs a simple jab. Hold down the A button to charge up a powerful hit. When charging, you can pull either up or down on the joystick to hit either the head or legs of the enemy.
Holding the B button allows you to block the enemy's attacks. Once again, you can pull either up or down on the joystick to adjust what area you block.
When you're not performing a maneuver with your sword, you can move Jack left or right by moving the joystick.
Cannon Battle[]
You must keep the enemy fleet from your newly captured island. There are two types of battles:
- Coastal - The enemy fleet will move towards the coast. If an enemy ship is able to dock, you lose.
- Open-sea - Ships will move left-right or right-left and attempt to sink your ship. If it runs out of HP, you lose.
