During the War of Jolly Roger Governor Weatherby Swann of Port Royal offered a reward of one thousand pounds for the capture of the infamous undead pirate Jolly Roger. At some point before the quest for the Trident of Poseidon the British authorities offered two hundred pounds to any person who could surrender Jack Sparrow dead or alive. However, over the years, as Jack lost his luck and became only a shadow of his former self, the reward slowly but steadily decreased to just one pound.
