- "The song is 'Pyrate Bryde' and was created just for the short by Warren Goodlang. Love that tune."
- ―Jim Byrkit
Pyrate Bryde, also known as Bonnie Pyrate Bride, was a chanty. An instrumental version of the song was played during the Auctioneer's auction at Shipwreck Cove.
Lyrics[]
- Jenny was green
- Not yet 17
- But wiser than her years
- She'd help all the men who she'd not see again
- To overcome their fears
- Jenny was green
- A pirate bride
- A pirate bride
- I searched all the seven seas
- For women of fire and lusty desire
- A bonny pirate bride for me
- A pirate bride
- Alice was fine and loved her wine
- She knew just how to sigh
- And only got drunk a few times a month
- And days that end in "y"
- Alice was fine and loved her wine
- Carrie would sneeze and probably had fleas
- Her health was not so fair
- What she lacked in mirth she made up in girth
- And lots and lots of hair
- Carrie would sneeze and probably had fleas
- A pirate bride
- A pirate bride
- I searched all the seven seas
- For women of fire and lusty desire
- A bonny pirate bride for me
- A pirate bride
- Peggy would limp and look like a chimp
- Her legs were made of wood
- But after we drank she no longer stank
- And rather looked quite good
- Peggy would limp and look like a chimp
- A pirate bride
- A pirate bride
- I searched all the seven seas
- For women of fire and lusty desire
- A bonny pirate bride for me
- A pirate bride
- A bonny pirate bride for me
Behind the scenes[]
- "Pyrate Bryde" was created just for the Pirates of the Caribbean short film Tales of the Code: Wedlocked. As of 2011, it was revealed to be created by "Warren Goodlang",[1] though it was later revealed to be written and performed by James Ward Byrkit with Steve Goodie and Martin Lang.[2]
- The song appears only in Wedlocked, particularly in the ending credits. This made Wedlocked the first Pirates of the Caribbean-related film to not have the films' main theme He's a Pirate playing during the credits.
