Stuart Beattie (born 1972) is an Australian screenwriter. He wrote the original screen story of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl with Jay Wolpert, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio. Beattie would also be attributed along with Wolpert, Elliott and Rossio, for the "Based on characters created by" credit in various Pirates of the Caribbean media. These in Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales, the latter film being written by Jeff Nathanson.
