Survivor[]

I'm sure he was actually seen back on board the Flying Dutchman after his supposed death. I suppose that when the Dutchman dove down it could have picked him up but that doesn't explain why the others aren't onboard as well. Of course I could be wrong.Ultrabountyhunter 09:21, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Well I brought the DVD recently, could it be possible that he landed on the deck of the Duchman? 203.29.161.21 06:43, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
This post may have proved that Clanker may have survived. Not saying it's him, but a portrayer of a crewmen does look like the one that's suspected in being Clanker. --CJSFan SigBlack Pearl, HMS Interceptor, Queen Anne's Revenge 00:30, May 27, 2011 (UTC)

Name[]

I'm surprised this hasn't been further discussed or noted. There was an edit, courtesy of User:Dierangosuq, with the summary: "He was named Clacker in AWE credits, look at the credits". I admit, at first, I didn't think much on it, but it's true. "Clacker" is the name used in the ending credits for both Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, whereas the name "Clanker" only appeared in one Visual Guide book thus far. Now there is the matter of, do the "Davy Jones's Crew" page from The Complete Visual Guide in 2007 literally copy the original Visual Guide from 2006; I can attest that at least Davy Jones' page is different, as the 2006 book featured concept art rather than the CGI character as seen in the 2007 book. At any rate, with this newfound issue, what to do? Are we satisfied with leaving "Clanker" as is, or is a rename to "Clacker" required? This is presuming, of course, we aren't missing any other sources to rely on here. -- CJSFanOn Stranger Tides, Arkham City 23:22, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

The Complete Guide to Davy Jones' Crew: Unmasked poster gives his name as "Clanker", and since that comes from/was used by the ILM visual effects crew itself, I guess it doesn't get much more official than that? Just my two cents, anyway. --flameandignite EmojiBlitzElizabethSwann-PowerUp Parley? 23:53, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Indeed, methinks that would certainly provide a bit more validity. Another one to consider is Andy Beckwith's reply to a question on Twitter/X. Unfortunately, unless it's a matter of having an account, I can't see beyond Beckwith's response rather than the post in full. -- CJSFanOn Stranger Tides, Arkham City 00:38, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
