- I agree that it's a tricorne, what I ment is that the article warrents the 'nickname" template because the hat is only referd to as "my hat"(Jack Sparrow) or "Jack's hat" (others). - Captain J. Sparrow 18:32, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- A hat can't have a proper name, so Jack Sparrow's hat is a good name (similar to Jack Sparrow's compass). It's not a nickname, so remove this template. El Chupacabra 10:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Anyone else a little worried?[]
At the end of OST, one thing in particular bugged me (there were other things) , where was Jack hat?!?!? I hope they show Jack getting his hat back in the fifth movie and not say "oh he had the hat the whole time!" This might come across as a rant (because it is) but Jack Sparrow without his hat is like Mickey without his ears. Jack is an icon as is his clothing. The Sailor 18:45, September 3, 2011 (UTC)
- There's no reason to think that Jack's hat is lost forever(DMC is a great example). Besides if Jack has his hat in P5 without an explanation, there is always the possibility that Jack got his hat back when he met with Gibbs(after getting back the Pearl). They kept Barbossa's hat at the QAR, so why not keep Jack's? Although Gibbs hasn't really said "Hey Jack, I got your hat", it is possible that either Gibbs had the hat in the sack with the other ship bottles. Idiotic, I know...but it's better to have some possibility than none at all. --

AWE video game appearance[]
