Synopsis[]

The Black Pearl is docked off the coast of Pamlico Island, a British naval base. The crew is waiting for Jack Sparrow's signal to raise the sails. A portion of the fort explodes and Jack boards the ship, holding a map. Looking through a hole in the wall, the local governor, Lord Maynard, recognizes Sparrow and asks his associate, a young lady named Grace Guittard, if she would be able to follow Jack and reclaim the map. Grace proclaims she is willing to follow Jack to the ends of the earth and beyond if she has to, because she has her own score to settle with him. Jack sank her father's ship and she intends to cross blades with him. Maynard says she trully is her father's daughter and instructs her to stop Jack and recover the map by any means necessary.
Eight days later, the Black Pearl is sailing through the Caribbean. Joshamee Gibbs complains because the Pearl is sailing in circles. Jack says the only way to reach the Lost Island is to sail off course intentionally. A treasure called the Terror of the World is hidden there and he intends to find it. Gibbs states that the Lost Island is located in the middle of the Lost Sea and no ship ever came back from there. Jack replies they are aboard the Black Pearl and nothing can threaten them. At the same moment a fleet of ships appears behind the Pearl and opens fire. Jack sets course for the Lost Sea, hoping the enemy won't follow them. However, one ship catches up with the Pearl and the pirate ship is boarded. Grace personally fights and defeats Jack and the pirates are thrown into the brig of their own ship.
Marty says they are in deep trouble and Gibbs agrees they won't get away so easy. Jack looks through a hole in the hull and calls his mates to see something very interesting. On deck Grace and her men notice that night has suddenly turned into day and it's impossible to pinpoint their location on the map. Jack says they must have reached the Lost Sea because within its borders everything turns into its opposite ― night becomes day, bow becomes stern, and locked prison doors become unlocked. As they leave the brig Gibbs says that's impossible but Jack replies that in the Lost Sea the impossible becomes possible. Now all of them who are right handed have to fight with weapons in their left hands. The pirates emerge on deck and attack their former captors. Due to the magic Grace and her men are easily thrown overboard.
Marty sees the Lost Island is on the horizon and Jack orders him to turn the Pearl in the opposite direction which will bring the ship exactly to the island. Marty declares he has never heard such a ridiculous order. Gibbs agrees with him but also says some things in the Lost Sea are even more ridiculous. Soon the Pearl is anchored and the pirates go ashore where they find an old shipwreck and a treasure chest. Jack says they must close the chest to open it. Grace suddenly appears, stabs her sword into the chest, aims her pistol at Jack, and declares him her captive. She introduces herself and says Jack will pay for the sinking of her father's ship. Jack states that she's making two mistakes. The first one is that on the Lost Island she won't be able to shoot him even if he stands still. The second is that he never sank Captain Guittard nor his ship. He then tells her to look around. Her father told her that Jack sank his ship so that she would become a pirate like him. The "Terror of the World" treasure belonged to him. Grace then notices the Guittard family crest on the treasure chest and the tattered flag with the same symbol hanging from the broken mast, fallen from the shipwreck. Grace falls to her knees, holding the flag and unable to understand why would her father become a pirate. As Gibbs and Marty secretly take away the treasure chest, Jack tells Grace that her father wanted to follow the laws of the sea instead of the Navy laws. In other words, he wanted to be free.
The pirates sail away and leave Grace behind. As the Pearl crosses the borders of the Lost Sea the treasure in the chest transforms into sand. It has turned into its opposite ― something completely worthless. Jack tells the crew not to be desperate. The only thing that matters is that the Pearl is sailing toward the horizon, and there's one more free person in the world, Grace Guittard, who is watching the Pearl from the wreck of her father's ship, with her flag waving in the wind from her sword.
