Synopsis[]

Jack Sparrow and his crew are ambushed on the island of Vermelha in Guinea-Bissau. The Barbary Corsair Icahn Bau, better known as "Black Crow", was hired by the East India Trading Company to capture Jack and his crew. The reward is Jack's weight in gold, and the Company doesn't care if he is delivered dead or alive. Jack tries to negotiate, asking Bau if he would demand one or two guineas for each member of Jack's crew, because they were recruitd at some of the worst ports in the Caribbean. Bau refuses to accept any ransom. However, Jack offers Bau the Star of the Seas, a diamond the size of a cannonball, which is by happy coincidence hidden on the very same island they're on. Bau agrees with Jack's proposal, the diamond in exchange for Jack's freedom and the freedom of his crew. As soon as the diamond is in his hands, he will order his crew to lower the red flag on his ship, which will signal the EITC ships not to come.
Jack, Joshamee Gibbs, Bau and two of his men go into the depths of the island, where they soon find the Devil's Mouth, a giant rock shaped like the mouth of some monster. The Mouth leads into the Belly of the Devil, which houses the Star. Gibbs asks Jack if the Mouth is alive to which Jack responds negatively, but still tells him to be quiet, just in case. Going into the Belly of the Devil they discover a labyrinth full of skeletons of previous visitors. All the skeletons have hands poiniting in different directions. Jack skillfully leads the group through the labyrinth, despite giving contradictory directions the whole time. Coming out of the labyrinth, they meet Jack's old acquittance, the African witch queen Oya.
Jack attempts to sweet talk Oya but she is not easily fooled. She shows him the diamond and asks him if he had forgotten how she feels about him. She puts the diamond into the nearby stoup of water and a group of armed warriors appear. They attack the pirates who quickly discover they can't touch them. The warriors' bodies are intangible, like they're ghosts, but their weapons can hurt the pirates. The end seems near but Jack runs to Oya, quickly seducing her, and she declares that she always loved him. However, Jack states that he only loves freedom, and takes the diamond. Out of the water the diamond loses its magical power and the warriors become tangible again. Jack and Gibbs start running while Oya yells that she won't spare Jack the next time. After defeating Oya's warriors Bau and his men try to follow Jack and Gibbs but get lost in the labyrinth.
Jack and Gibbs exit the cave and free the rest ot the crew from Bau's remaining men. They board the Black Pearl but the EITC fleet is blocking the entrance into the bay. Jack sails the Pearl straight toward the enemy with full speed. Swinging on a rope over the rail, Jack comes close to the surface of the sea, and holding the diamond in his right hand he puts it below the surface of the water. The diamond regains its magical powers and the Pearl becomes intangible and invisible, easily sailing through the EITC ships. The pirates leave the enemy behind and Jack climbs aboard with the diamond, making the Pearl tangible again. As Jack stands on the main deck, he declares that people will tell legends about the escape they performed, and how the legend will grow with every new retelling. However, a crow flies over the ship and snatches the diamond from Jack, flying away with it. Although Gibbs says they try to go after the diamond, Jack takes the helm and says he doesn't really care because there are many more mysterious stones in the ocean, and for them this is just the beginning.
