Ahoy Captain Caesar! 😉 It has been a dog's age. I'm doing alright, all things considering. And I'm always open to answering questions. That said, do I have plans? Sadly, none whatsoever. Certainly doesn't help I literally only have access to a phone rather than a computer, which is my ideal editing tool. I did go into semi-detail in a more-recent post, it's briefly mentioned a discussion with Uskok and Midhav, and I think I brought it up as well on blog posts linked on top of my userpage. In short, I think my retirement may be permanent.
Of course, like other diehard fans I'll be an occasional visitor but as far as a very active user, very unlikely. Not that I don't want to, but I have personal problems that prevent me from doing the huge level of work and effort I was able to pull off from 2010(?)-2017, which isn't a bad run, methinks. Regardless of what happened with the administration (which I am baffled about, to be honest) I am glad the Wiki seems to be holding up well in my absence and I trust the future will get better.
All that being said, congrats on your promotion! Could've sworn that I considered you admin-material way back when, but it has been a long time since I've had these talks. Either way, you have the title now and I'm sure POTC Wiki is in good hands. Best of luck!
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. I hope you'll solve them all soon. I was thinking, since you were the admin for a very long time, if you ever decide to come back, I'll give you back your admin rights faster than you can say "Rum is good!"
The administration story is a little weird. It seems Uskok had some disagreements with Staff members and they took his admin rights away. I don't have all the details and Uskok could probably give you the whole story but he doesn't seem to be very active anymore. The last admin that Uskok promoted, Gundolf60, was asked to adopt the Wiki but he didn't want that because he's occupied with other duties. Then he asked me to adopt the Wiki and here I am. Unfortunately, at the same time, all the inactive admins lost their rights.
Thank you for the kind thoughts. Where I’m at right now is that I'm not sure of it would be possible for me to be active enough to earn admin rights. But thanks for the offer though. Besides, even if I did say yes, Uskok had actually been around longer (actually promoted me the first time) so it wouldn't be right if I returned and he didn't...I think I’d be doing Uskok a disservice. Call me crazy for having loyalty. Lol Either way, it wouldn't feel right.
That sounds like a weird story, indeed. If I knew the story, all that would happen is I know the story. I'm sure if any of the old admin return or any good editors come interested in the job I'm sure they'll come and work for the position.
You're welcome! I'm sure you'll do great and keep the legacy alive best you can. And as always...Keep to the Code.
